Frame types in the IPX/SPX network
All Domino server and Notes client systems using the IPX protocol need to use the same IPX frame type across all network segments and topologies.

Note Make sure that the NetWare and Domino server systems are manually locked to the same frame type and that only one frame type is used to support the IPX protocol in the network. Otherwise, you may have connectivity problems or IPX wrapper errors because of the different IPX packet sizes the frame types impose.

Note On Notes client systems running Windows, it is best to use the Control Panel to select a specific frame type for the IPX/SPX network rather than to detect which type is being used with "Auto Detect" (the default).
