IBM Lotus Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook
IBM Lotus Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook provides access to Domino mail file databases from the Microsoft Outlook Client. This product brings most of the Domino messaging features to Microsoft Outlook users, allowing users familiar with Microsoft Outlook to work effectively with Domino.

Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook supports replication synchronization between the Outlook client and Domino. Domino Notes replication keeps the Outlook .PST file identical to the mail database, for Mail, Calendar, Tasks, and Contacts. Users need only to make changes one time, and the changes appear in both places.

Note Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook does not support "Internet Mail Only" clients. Previous versions of this product used Open Standards (IMAP and ICAL) to access Domino. The current release, however, uses the Notes remote procedure call (NRPC) service.

Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook plugin

Using the Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook plugin, includes Out of Office and change password features, and the ability to import and export Internet certificates. Users can set, Domino Preferences including mail file preferences, setting up free time and busy hours, autoprocessing, and customizing replication settings.

Installing Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook

The Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook setup is located in the Domino server's data directory.

Client installation

End users must have Microsoft Outlook 2000 or XP installed on their systems. The Microsoft Outlook client must be a "Corporate or Workgroup" client. (To check your Outlook client, start Microsoft Outlook, then choose Help - About.) Users can install Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook using a standard Windows MSI installer. The setup program used during installation is similar to the setup that is used for the Notes client. It prompts the user for a minimum amount of information, and based on this information, sets up the needed Location documents, Connection documents, and NOTES.INI settings needed for Outlook to access the server.

You may want to inform end users of the following installation issues:
